NOT A COMPLETE BAN ON FIRECRACKERS, SUPREME COURT SETS SOME CONDITIONS

Supreme Court  today refused to complete ban on firecrackers as complete ban also includes the fundamental right of livelihood of manufacturers of firecrackers. A bench of Justice A K Sikri and Justice Ashok Bhushan said in its order that bursting of firecrackers will be allowed for two hours (8pm to 10pm) on Diwali and 35 (11:55pm  to 12.30am) mints on Christmas and new Year’s evening. SC also ban the online sale of firecrackers and put the stay on the Flipkart and Amazon, E-commerce portals from selling firecrackers. Bench also directed the Central Pollution Control Board to monitor air quality before 7 days and after 7 days of Diwali. Court also said that only firecrackers with reduced emission and low decibel will be permitted  during the given time and order would be applicable across the country.
