Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national level entrance exam for admissions to candidates in undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programmes offered at 21 National Law Universities (NLUs) and other colleges/ universities accepting exam scores. Till 2018, the exam was conducted by NLUs on a rotational basis. However, from 2019 onwards it is being conducted by a permanent body formed by the universities i.e. The Consortium of NLUs. The CLAT Convenor of the current year is NUSRL, Ranchi. Students planning to appear for the exam must have a crystal-clear knowledge of it.

Common Law Admission Test or CLAT is a single unified entrance test for candidates aspiring to pursue 5-year Integrated LLB. The law entrance examination is conducted annually for UG programmes.
Eligibility criteria must be checked by the candidates before filling the application form. Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is an all India level entrance exam. The exam will be held for the candidates who are interested in undergraduate programmes. CLAT exam will be managed by the Consortium of National Law Universities. Through this exam, candidates will get admission in various universities in all over India.
Eligibility Criteria for UG LLB (5 Years)
CLAT offers admissions to both national and NRI candidates in the Five Year Integrated LLB Course offered in various National Law Universities (NLUs) across India. The standards are given below.

Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in April/May 2020 are eligible to register for Common Law Admission Test. They must submit an evidence of their successfully clear-ing the qualifying examination at the time of admission, failing which they will lose their right to be considered for admission.
Submit the result of qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2) at the time of CLAT Admission.

CLAT Eligibility for NRI
NRI/ NRI Sponsored category candidates are offered seats under NRI Quota. The admissions are not carried out by the CLAT office, but by the concerned universities independently on the basis of CLAT merit.
Candidates must contact the concerned university directly for admission formalities, eligibil-ity, documents required and other related queries for seeking admission under NRI/NRI sponsored category.

An affidavit by the sponsor indicating the interest shown in the education affairs of the stu-dent and willingness to fund the education of student over the next 5 years.
Candidates can apply for CLAT 2020 by following the steps as under:
Step 1: Visit the official website of CLAT: clatconsortiumofnlu.ac.in
Step 2: now Click on “Apply Now”.
Step 3: Now click on “Click here for new registration”.
Step 4: Enter the necessary details and click on “Submit” to register yourself. Your User ID and Password will be sent to your registered Email ID.
Step 5: Use your User ID and Password to login.
Step 6: Now enter your personal, academic and other details.
Step 7: Upload scanned copies for your photograph, signature, and other necessary documents.
Step 8: Click on “Final Submit.”
Step 9: Make payment of the CLAT application fees.
Step 10: Now take a print of form for future reference.
Candidate applying for CLAT 2020 can opt any mode of payment like offline or online.
For offline- They can pay through bank challan.
For online- They can either pay through Debit Cards, Credit Cards or Net Banking.
