The Karnataka High Court cancelled the bail granted to the self-styled godman Nityananda in 2010 rape case.
Justice John Michael DCunha of the Karnataka High court cancelled the bail on the grounds of the police complaint filed by Kuruppan Lenin against Nithyananda for various crimninal offences, including rape. Lenin, who worked as Nithyanandas driver, sought cancellation of the bail saying accused was skipping trial.
Court ordered the trial court to arrest accused and initiate process of forfeiting the surety and bonds. Nithyananda has misled the trial court into believing that he was working towards propagating Hinduism whereas his whereabouts were not known to anyone.
Nityananda’s 2 disciples have been arrested who were recently booked on charges of kidnapping and keeping children in wrongful confinement at an ashram in Ahmedabad.
The Controversial godman fled the country last year and the Interpol issued a Blue Corner Notice to locate him.
